HAT DW's award-winning ED7500-HY Arm is a remarkable work tool. Effortlessly position your monitor exactly where you want it, and add flexibility to your work style. Suspend your flat panel above the desk surface and reclaim your valuable space.
The ED7500-HY is equipped with hydrostrut cylinder, which offers more resistance, a kind of pushback before it moves, compared to a regular cylinder. The movement of the installed display is restricted because of this special cylinder, making it a perfect desk mounting arm for digital artists, illustrators and animators. The hydro strut has a different spring a seal package inside the cylinder that helps to stabilize the arm and prevent unintentional vertical motion from the light weight of typing or finger force on touch screens.
With a standard monitor arm, used for display only screens, you want the cylinder to move effortlessly and with only the lightest of touch.
For applications like touch screens, keyboard integration, or similar, the hydro strut has more resistance built into it with an internal spring and oil pack. While the strut still moves smoothly, it requires more force to get it to move. Therefore the weight of hands resting on a keyboard, the pressure from fingers touching the screen or the force from a digital pen will not be enough to move the arm.
