We are all busy, and staying healthy can be tough. What do we recommend to keep you on track during the work week?
1. Drink more water.
The average adult is usually under-hydrated. You should be getting 8 cups a day. Water keeps you energized, and can even help regulate weight loss.
Get a reusable water bottle and remember to keep it topped up throughout your workday.
Your chair should offer proper ergonomic support to keep you from getting sore and stiff while you work.
With the right chair you’ll develop good posture and keep your blood flowing. In turn, this will increase your energy level and therefore your productivity.
3. Walk around the office.
As convenient as email and instant messaging services are, getting up for an old fashioned chat with one of your co-workers will make your body happy.
Even just a few steps down the hall adds movement to your day. And who knows, maybe they’ll have some good ideas for your next project!
4. Stand while you work.
There’s a lot of research out there promoting the benefits of sit-stand (standing desks), encouraging you to stand up for 10 minutes every half hour.
Furthermore, for your next meeting, see if it’s possible to work through it standing up. You’ll find your meeting more energized and productive.
