It came out to a roar of applause. Like a rock concert at a stadium, Silicon Valley was on its toes as everyone waited to hear the big news. Once it was seen, everyone was talking about it across the country. It was shiny, it was wearable, and it was a glimpse of the future. The public at large saw the Apple Watch for the first time ever, and now there’s no going back. On top of all the hoopla and glamour, it helps keep you active throughout your workday as well! Glamour with a cause, nothing like it!
Especially in the San Francisco Bay Area, fans have been painfully waiting while guessing what this watch would look like. Perform a simple Google search for an Apple Watch (Or iWatch, which so many will call it although it is definitely not the title given by the company) and you will see a million guesses as to what this device would look like and what it could do to improve your daily life. There will always be the naysayers and laggards. Then those early adopters of technology will no doubt make those in denial secretly want a piece of the Apple pie. Look at it like this, how many people do you know these days who wear health wristbands? I know of many who already rely on these.
The big question is will you be wearing the new wearable tech device? Workout nuts? Gamers? Office workers who need a reminder to work out each day? And now with all the fitness-inspired features, the Apple Watch works as your ergonomic personal trainer as well.
The Apple Watch lends itself to an ergonomic lifestyle. The Activity App was developed by Apple designers to keep you active by showing how much movement, exercise, and even standing time you fit into your day. These features help you stay on top of your fitness goals reminding you that even if you’re standing for a few minutes out of every hour, that is better for your health in the long run compared to sitting for hours together continuously.
There is a catch though! The Apple Watch will not run solo. Nope, you need to have an iPhone in order for the watch to work. You either need to already own a 5S or 5C iPhone or higher or simply pre-order a new iPhone 6.
Rabid fans aside, I’m just happy that Apple has joined the Standing revolution!
